Since I wrote my last post as we prepared for the end of French lockdown on 11th May, we've been enjoying our freedom - even if it wasn't total freedom…

Locked-down vanlife
We're 40 days into Coronavirus lockdown in our van in the French Alps.

January didn’t suck this year
January. Christmas done. Back to work and commuting in the dark. Rainy school runs. Waiting 96 days until payday. Not this year though.

Journey so far
132 days, 7270 miles, eight countries, one overseas territory, 12 cities, five ferry crossings, three ski resorts, 50 ish beaches and an active volcano.

10 weeks in
It's exactly 10 weeks to the day since we left Exmouth. We've covered about 3500 miles across France, Spain, Portugal and back into Spain.

Building dens and making friends
Biscarosse gave us our first proper taste of beach van life.

The sand mountain
After three weeks spent inland and a long journey across France, this family of beach bums were ready to be reunited with the coast.

Disney-on-the-Dordogne?
Jim described La Roque-Gageac as 'Disney meets the Cotswolds' (I wonder if the Dordogne tourist board fancy that one?)

Beautiful Beaulieu
Beaulieu means, literally, 'beautiful place' and I can't think of a better description.

Heading west in search of hooks
On Monday 5 August we left the Alps and started our journey towards the coast.
