Our ferry arrived in Calais around 8.15pm French time on Tuesday evening.
Goodbye UK
We left Exmouth on the morning of Tuesday 23 July. Ivan probably asked “are we nearly there yet” 17 times before we reached the A30.
The final countdown
It’s only been 11 days since we left the UK, but the weeks before we left are already a hazy blur.

A week ago Jim and I said goodbye to the house we’ve lived in for nearly ten years and moved our family into a campervan.
